Celebrating 50 Years of Care for Our Seniors

When the Marist Missionary Sisters founded Maristhill in 1970, they had a vision to create high-quality care for their aging sisters and to fill a need for skilled nursing care in our local community. When the organization first opened the doors, its first five residents were Marist Sisters. Our 50th anniversary is a testament to the strength and importance of the Marist Missionary Sisters’ vision and values, which drive our passion for providing compassionate care that honors the dignity of each person who calls Maristhill home.

Celebration Planning Committee Volunteers

A special thank you to our planning committee and volunteers who brought passion and talent forward to ensure this celebration would strongly pay tribute to our founders, the Marist Missionary Sisters; entertain our guests with powerful storytelling and joyful music; and offer fellowship as we reminisced about our past and shared our hopes for the future. We are deeply grateful for the commitment of these special individuals.

Maristhill President, James Tracy, presents Sister Mary Jane Keeney with a gift of appreciation, featuring a photo of Sister Elizabeth Bonia, Maristhill’s first Administrator. This gift commemorates the vision that the Marist Missionary Sisters had in 1967 to serve the Waltham community. Mr. Tracy shared with the Sisters that “Maristhill and Covenant Health are proud to continue their legacy of care and love for our elders.”
