Hospice & Palliative Care

We have a long tradition providing specialized care during difficult times. Through our partnership with Hospice of the Good Shepherd, the first non-profit hospice organization in Massachusetts, we provide an environment of support, comfort and peace to patients and their families. We also welcome other hospice organizations who may be caring for people at home who need to transition to full-time care.

Hospice care is sometimes a short-stay break to give family caregivers a chance to rest and care for themselves. It can also be offered as a transition when the care becomes too great to be supported at home. In either case, we strive to provide a warm environment in which families and friends continue to feel involved and welcome.

At Maristhill, we value and protect human life, and we are committed to empowering and enabling our residents to live their lives as fully as possible.

If you or a loved one are dealing with a painful and/or serious illness, special care called palliative care is available to help control symptoms and stress and make difficult circumstances more manageable for residents and their loved ones. Palliative care also helps patients and residents recover from life-threatening illness, enhance quality of life and provide relief from nausea and other distressing symptoms.
