Dear Maristhill Residents and Families,
The facility has come through one of our most difficult times with the Covid-19 virus and I am pleased to inform you that almost every resident in the facility is Covid-19 Recovered. All of our staff except for two is Covid-19 Recovered including myself. The Maristhill staff along with the nursing staff from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Covenant Health Systems supported the facility to provide excellent care to the residents during this difficult period. As quickly as the virus hit us on December 14th we had our first round of negative testing for Negative and Recovered residents and staff on December 29th. Since January 2nd we have had five additional rounds of Covid-19 testing for all of our Negative residents and staff. The results during these five rounds of testing resulted in only one resident and one staff person testing positive for Covid-19. We unfortunately lost four residents during this period and they will be truly missed by the Maristhill community.
The vaccine has arrived and our pharmacy vaccinated 65 staff/volunteers and 60 residents with first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on January 8th. The second dose will be provided on January 29th for those that had the first dose on January 8th. If, you are interested in having your family member receive their first dose of the vaccine we can accommodate that on January 29th. We have enclosed a Walgreens Authorization form for you to complete for either the second dose or the first dose. Yes, you must sign another authorization form for the second dose. Sorry. Please speak to Luanne, Shirly or the attending physician for your family member if you have any questions concerning the vaccine.
The facility is hoping that we will have in-person visits in the near future and we will keep you updated on this important topic for our residents and their families.
We are asking families of our residents to provide us with the primary contact email so that we can provide information regarding important information. Please send an email to Anthony Taddeo, our Administrative Support Coordiantor. His email is Ataddeo@covh.org. We have had many families respond to this request, but it will be helpful to have a majority of the primary contact individuals respond for their family member. Thank you for your assistance.
